Carlos Cano

Carlos Cano joined the Computational Biology Initiative in April, 2007, as a visiting researcher with financial support from the Ministry of Education and Science (Spanish Government).

Carlos earned his Masters in Computer Science from the University of Granada (Spain). Currently, he is a PhD student carrying out his research on Bioinformatics.

His research has been focused on the analysis of gene expression data from microarrays. Particularly, he has been working on cluster and bicluster methods over microarray data and the integration of information from different biological sources (gene expression, GO annotations, scientific literature).

At the CBI, Carlos and his colleagues are developing new methods for mining biomedical literature and integrating the extracted knowledge into biological networks with focus on Autism and other related neurological diseases.
