Autworks is a web-driven navigation system that allows any researcher to view and search through the network of genes implicated in complex diseases and disorders. It is predicated on the belief that our understanding of complex disorders like autism can be improved by examining the networks of protein interactions rather than single genes individually. It is also predicated on the fact that complex multigenic disorders share pathophysiologies and symptoms with other disorders, and the idea that these commonalities can be leveraged to improve our understanding of genetic mechanisms in Autism. The beta phase version of this resource is now available here.
It is part of an ongoing Autism research effort in the Wall Lab at the Center for Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School.
Our lab is interested in computational approaches to understanding biological function and the genetic basis of diseases. Our work falls into three interrelated aims.
